A Kohner Reunion
In September 2025, I helped organize a Kohner reunion in Szászberek, Hungary. Kohner family members traveled from the US, UK, Italy, and Canada and gathered in Szászberek for the day. Now a small village near Szolnok, Hungary, it was originally an estate owned by the Kohner family. Some of Szászberek's current residents are descendants of former estate workers. The Szászberek mayor, the historical society director, and many current residents graciously hosted the Kohner visitors.
Most of us had never met in person, so it was a wonderful opportunity to meet, share family stories and photos, and get to know one another better. It was a meaningful and emotional day for all.

March 9th is my Hungarian Name Day. Name days are typically celebrated similarly to birthdays, but instead of focusing on the day you were born, the focus is on your name and the saint associated with it.
